Hi, I'm
RyanBudianto
Product Manager & Machine Learning Engineer
About Me
I'm a Product Manager and Machine Learning Engineer with a Bachelor of Advanced Computing (Hons.) from ANU and a CS degree from Universitas Indonesia, both completed simultaneously through a double degree program, graduating Cum Laude. I connect technical depth with creative execution: I've shipped production systems, closed enterprise deals, and built full-stack platforms from scratch. Outside work, I'm usually sketching something, deep in a game I really should have stopped playing two hours ago, or learning something I had no reason to learn.
Technical Skills
Work Experience
AIRES Technology / Huahui Times International
Product Manager
AIRES Technology is the Indonesian subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Huahui Times International, a company bringing industrial IoT to Southeast Asia: smart robots, autonomous drones, intelligent terminals. My role covers both engineering and business. On the technical side, I led development of a production-ready web platform built on Vue 3, TypeScript, Spring Boot, Docker, and MySQL, including full-stack infrastructure with JWT/OAuth2 authentication, OpenSearch indexing, Prometheus monitoring, and PDF processing. On the commercial side, I closed enterprise deals with Indonesia's largest telecom provider totalling around USD 100K. I coordinate between technical teams and clients, handle logistics and documentation, and try to always leave clients more impressed than they expected.
NPG Data Visualization · ANU Techlauncher
Developer & Spokesperson
Through ANU's Techlauncher program, I co-built an interactive data visualization app for an exhibition at the Australian National Portrait Gallery, turning portrait collection metadata into something people actually wanted to look at. The stack: PixiJS for canvas rendering, Svelte.js on the frontend, Node.js on the backend, all built with agile and DevOps practices. I also served as the team spokesperson, translating between developers and non-technical stakeholders and keeping the project on track through regular client demos. The project was later recognised as an Australian AI Awards 2024 Finalist.
Universitas Indonesia · Fasilkom
Tutor – Programming Foundations 2
Selected by Fasilkom UI's Lembaga Asisten and the Teman Belajar program to tutor Programming Foundations 2, a course known for filtering out students who aren't ready. I ran weekly group sessions and one-on-one mentoring for struggling students. Multiple students who had previously failed came back and earned A or A- grades. Genuinely one of the most rewarding things I've done.
Universitas Indonesia · Fasilkom
Teaching Assistant – Data Structures & Algorithms
One of my first proper teaching roles, assisting in a course dense enough to humble most second-year students. I helped design, proctor, and grade assignments and exams. I also translated materials between English and Indonesian and acted as a go-between for students and the lecturer, handling weekly updates and one-on-one support. Explaining recursion at 11pm is, in fact, its own skill.
Open House Fasilkom UI
Expert Staff – Creative Team
Helped shape the creative direction of Fasilkom UI's annual open house, the event that convinces high schoolers computer science is worth four years. I led a small team of designers, built the visual identity from scratch, and produced everything from social media posts to merchandise shirts, physical stickers, and digital collateral. Part art director, part project coordinator.
PERAK Fasilkom
Staff – Competitive Games Division
PERAK is Fasilkom's annual sports and games event. I ran the competitive gaming side: tournament coordination, technical setup, live broadcast management, and mid-event troubleshooting. Something always breaks during a stream. Also helped promote the events across channels and drew in a solid turnout.
COMPFEST
Staff – Creative Division
COMPFEST is one of Indonesia's largest student-run tech events. On the Creative Division, I handled interior and set design for video productions and helped with costume and styling for hosts and staff. Aesthetic consistency matters whether you're designing a UI or dressing a broadcast set.
UI Esports Club
Team Member – Valorant
Competed as part of UI Esports' Valorant team in Indonesia's university-level esports circuit and won multiple national campus tournaments. It turns out game sense, communication under pressure, and fast decision-making are just as useful outside the game.
